Volkswagen is entering a new automotive era with the I.D. family. For the first time, the brand is launching a family of 100% electric vehicles. In this context of course every successful company wants to create its own amazing electric car so today we jot down all the Volkswagen I.D. Family electric Cars from the compact I.D. and SUVs such as the ID CROZZ to the I.D. BUZZ and also explore the future coming our way. The all-electric models featured today will hit the road from 2022. 

VW ID Crozz

The ID. CROZZ is Volkswagen’s first electrically powered crossover utility vehicle. A sporty, interactively designed zero-emission all-rounder – with electric all-wheel drive that is equally impressive in the urban jungle as it is on the rough terrain of an adventurous and active life. CROZZ delivers power of 225 kW, has a top speed of 180 km/h and can cover up to 500 kilometres (NEDC) on one battery charge. At charging points with power output of 150 kW (DC) the high-performance battery can be 80% recharged by the fast-charging system within 30 minutes.

VW ID Vizzion

A next-generation, avant-garde premium class saloon. It drives autonomously and is operated by voice and gesture control. Thanks to artificial intelligence the I.D. VIZZION achieves intelligent interpretation of travel and space. The mobile interior – the ‘open space’ – is thought out anew here, so that the time spent on short and long trips in daily living can be utilised more productively and flexibly. The I.D. VIZZION comes with electric all-wheel drive system with two electric motors that deliver a system power of 225 kW, a high-voltage battery with 111 kWh of energy capacity and a driving range of up to 665 kilometres are all part of the very near future and that will happen earlier than many people anticipate today – at the latest by the middle of the next decade. The I.D. VIZZION clearly shows just how fascinating the mobility of tomorrow will be.

VW ID 3

This electrical hatchback is treated by VW as true peoples EV that should establish the company as one of the world’s leaders in EV production. This newcomer will be the right appeal to EV drivers, finally offering a low price entry-level electric car with appealing looks and decent range and features as well as higher and long range variants with VW premium specs. Initially a 58 kWh battery pack with 386 kilometers of range will go on sale but later on two more power will be introduced a 300 kilometers 45 kWh and 500 kilometers 77 kWh. VW ID Roomz

Volkswagen unveiled a all-new electric SUV concept at the recent Shanghai Auto Show. The EVs dreamy named ID Roomzz is an all-electric SUV that is destined for the Chinese market by 2021 with new Level of autonomous capabilities. The ID Roomzz will come with an 82 kWh battery, providing a range of up to 450 km. It can be recharged to 80 percent in 30 minutes via a fast charging system with 150 kW. But as a concept, the Roomzz is really just a template on which VW can project its futuristic goals. The Roomzz is meant to show off the versatility of its MEB, or “Modulare E-Antriebs-Baukasten,” which is German for “modular electric drive matrix.” At the moment there are no autonomous vehicles for sale you can buy today and AV operators are growing more cautious about predicting when self-driving cars will be deployed in masse.

VW ID Buggy

Drawing inspiration from the classic dune buggies of the 60s the ID BUGGY has created buzz about the future possibilities of e-mobility. BUGGY shows the versatility of the modular electric drive matrix (MEB) and puts the fun in functional. The zero-emissions drivetrain of the I.D. BUGGY is made up of the electric motor integrated in the rear axle, with power electronics, a single-speed gearbox, and the high-voltage flat battery (62 kWh) arranged in the car floor to save space. The electric motor delivers 150 kW / 204 horsepower and maximum torque of 310 Nm from standstill, and gives the vehicle an expected range of 250 on the WLTP cycle. The concept car sprints from zero to 100 km/h in just 7.2 seconds. The maximum speed is electronically controlled at 160 km/h.

VW ID Buzz

Unlike many models in the list, the ID Buzz is one of a kind built that was created only for motor shows. This van has officially confirmed by VW and scheduled for production in 2022 and its design will be reminiscent of the Mini Buzz of 1960s. The Buzz promised to be affordable for millions of people and not just the very rich. It will be sitting on the modular electric drive kit XL platform with two motors in the front and two at the rear axels. Each motor will have an output of 150 kilowatt and combined will deliver 275 kilowatt. This allows Buzz ID to accelerate 0-100 KPH in just 5 seconds and will reach a top speed of 161 kilometers per hour. One charge will take you 600 kilometers towards your destination. However the beauty of long trips in this EV is the comfort. Since the diving could be entrusted to the 100% autonomous ID pilot.

VW I.D.R Supercar

Built to conquer the Pikes Peak international hill climb this VW electric car packed some serious capabilities. It sits on the brands new  MEB platform which is equipped with a pair of electric motors delivering a total power output of 689 horsepower in addition the IDR only weighs 1,100 kilograms and is capable of going from 0-60 in 2.25 seconds. With such acceleration the new VW is actually slightly faster than the Model S launching in the ludicrous mode. Being one of the fastest automobiles ever built by VW the IRD supercar can even challenge a Formula E and Formula 1 racers.
