Mahindra GenZe 2.0
One of the largest vehicle manufacturers in India Mahindra has applied their decade of experience into bringing their all electric scooters to life. Designed in Silicon Valley and made in Michigan United States. Mahindra aims to push the boundaries of innovation around the world. The company describes the GenZe as a moped with a pick scooter due to its large rear storage area capability of carrying a cargo of 34 kilograms. The GenZe get a 7-inch cruise connect touchscreen display which is always connect to the companies cloud server which provides you all the necessary information according to your customization. The GenZe comes with a top speed of 50 kilometers per hour which is backed by 1.6 kilowatt hour removable lithium-ion battery. It will take 3.5 hours to fully charge to achieve a range of 50 plus kilometers. The Mahindra GenZe is only available in US market and costs $3,700.



GOGORO
Taiwan based electric scooter manufacturer GOGORO joined forces with the electric giant BOSCH for a scooter sharing services two years ago is now partnering with Yamaha in battery swapping technology. Now the riders can simply pull up at the charging station and replace it with their discharged battery pack with a new one. GOGORO come with a smart phone app which enable the riders to customize their settings on the scooter which also help with the anti-theft device. This electric scooter comes with a top speed of 90 kilometers per hour and with a range of 110 kilometers when fully charged. Unfortunately the GOGORO is only available in the Taiwanese market but they have plans to go global soon in 2020.


Ather 450
Ather 450 is the latest model of an e-scooter by the Indian manufacturer Ather Energy.The scooter is powered by an electric motor with a peak power output of 5 kilowatts allowing it to go from zero to 40 kilometers per hour in 3.3 seconds which reaches a top speed of 80 kilometers per hour. The high capacity 2.9 kilowatt hour lithium ion battery ensures the true range of 85 kilometers with a option of fast charging to 80% in one hour. Ather 450 is equipped with an on-board display that is built-in navigation tool and provides relevant driving information but it can also be managed via a dedicated mobile App. The company provides its own network of charging stations around India. the Ather450 also come with a price tag of $2,200 plus $10 monthly maintenance fee.


ONYX RCR
San Francisco based ONYX has introduced its two new electric mopeds the CTY and RCR which comes with an incredible performance and affordable price at the same time. The RCR which is the only available option to buy now comes with a 5.4 kilowatt electric motor that delivers 135 pound feet of torque to reach a top speed of 100 kilometers per hour. The company uses Panasonic 18/650 lithium ion battery cells like Tesla did in producing the Model S and Model X vehicles. The RCR claims a 120 kilometers of range when fully charged. If you run out of battery the RCR comes with standard bicycle like pedals which will help you cycle back to your charging station. The ONYX RCR comes with a price of $2,800 on Indigogo.


Etergo Appscooter
A new Dutch company called Etergo also joins the other companies to accelerate the process of bringing smart and green mobility to our cities. The Appscooter is the company’s first fully electric vehicle that comes with a kind of similar design and features like Vespa but with long range opportunity and a more affordable price. Being equipped with six modular battery packs each providing about 70 kilometrs of range it can achieve 643 kilometers of range overall; although you can go faster than 45 kilometers per hour. The battery modules are easy to carry in charge and it’s up to you how many modules you would like to take for a ride. The company aims to combine fully connected technology high quality materials, comfort and safety into a long range electric scooter. Price $3,900.

The electric scooters today may be more expensive than other gas scooter and bikes but with their cheaper insurance registration, very low maintenance costs, zero emission, zero noise and smart features makes it a lot more sense over conventional counterparts.
