Mercedes Benz Vision Urbanetic
The new mobility concept from Mercedes Benz blurs the line between the passenger and commercial vehicles. In essence the vision Urbanetic is an all-electric fully autonomous platform that can carry modules with either cargo or people in the ride sharing form almost 12 passengers could be transported to their destination and as a cargo van Urbanetic can move up to 10 Epell pallets. The dimension of the vehicle remains rather compact due to the absence of the driver cabin it is just 17 feet long. This futuristic Mercedes will operate under a single intelligent network reacting to the conditions in real life without human supervision for example if some of the junction points get over crowded and additional unit from the Urbanatic fleet will be dispatched to satisfy the increased transportations demands.
Canoo
This MPV is the most probably the most unorthodox one on this list. not only due to its futuristic design but also the new form of subscription-only ownership. Canoo was founded in 2017 where the former BMW and faraday future executives. Their creation is riding on a skateboard platform that integrates an 80 kilowatt hour pack aiming for up to 403 kilometers of range and 30 minutes fast charging. There is a single 300 horsepower motor propelling the rear wheels but the chassis also supports front and dual motor all-wheel drive configurations. The Canoo seats 7 but still keeps 15.4 cubic feet od cargo space plus the cabin is more of a lounge on wheels with a vast moon-roof. For now the driver seat and steering wheel are still in place but the van is already pre-equipped with the level for autonomy hardware for the days to come.
Navya Arma
Arma is a fully autonomous self-driving shuttle bus that you can simply board sit down and let it drive you towards your destination. The AI has full control over the vehicle and it experiences the environment by the means of the lighter, GPS, odometer and camera vision. It is an electric vehicle that is powered by 33 kilowatt hour battery that in theory can run to 5-10 hours depending on the traffic conditions. The top speed of this boxy bus is 45 kilometers per hour. However the operational speed is currently set at 20 KPH for safety reasons. The creators of Navya Arma expected it to become a vehicle of choice for amusement parks, hospitals and college campuses or any other location that requires short distance commutes.
MOIA
MOIA is the new company in the VW Group formed back in 2016 with a task to redefine urban mobility the independent offices are located in Berlin, Hamburg and Helsinki were besides the car design a special software is developed for ride hailing and ride pooling services. The first MOIA autonomous vehicle is a six passenger van with cozy interior room, individual seats, cabin LED lightening and Wi-Fi. At the moment the company is concentrating in the development of the electric drive. The MOIA will have 300 kilometers of range with 30 minutes fast charge options.
Mercedes Smart Vision EQ
Driverless two-seater Smart Vision EQ for Two is the city car of the future. Daimler believes that these vehicles will be used for smart car sharing in the nearest future. EQ ForTwo will get a 30-kilowatt hour battery that will allow almost constant operation throughout the day ad if the charge is low it will automatically go to the station. The interiors are high tech but at the same time minimalistic. The deadline that is set by the company is the year 2022. So hopefully Vision EQ will be on the roads by then.
