7 Tesla Models Coming in 2020

Tesla will complete its entire line-up of all major models bringing it to the market in coming 2020. In my opinion, this is also the point where Tesla as a company makes a full transition into a well-established electric car manufacturer that challenges other automotive giants in every single segment. As Tesla today has become a household name we bring you 7 Tesla Models coming in 2020 and also exploring the new face-lifts with new models coming our way.

Tesla Model S

Thought the Model 3 has significantly dug into the sales of Tesla’s flagship sedan it still remains one of the most desirable EV’s on the market. In 2020 it will be sold in two configurations both powered by independent dual motor setup that ensures all-wheel drive, if you are astonished looking at Model 3 top speed and 0-100 timings, you need to look closely at Model S specifications. To get one of the world’s quickest production automobile then the $100,000 performance trim is yours top bet. This will help you cover 0-100 KPH in 2.4 second in Ludicrous mode. It is rumoured that along with the strt of the model Y production a face-lifted Model S will hit the market as well. Allegedly it will get a Model 3 shell interior, new Plaid powertrain with three motors and an even larger battery which is good for 643 kilometers.

Tesla Model 3

Depending on the market you are shopping in the actual selection of model 3 is usually presented in three trims; standard range plus, long range and performance. Interestingly the $35,000 Model 3 is still available but you will have to call the Tesla store directly to order one and likely will be convinced to get the upper trims. The standard has a rear wheel drive setup that is powered by single motor with 283 horsepower output and its 50 kilowatt hour battery is good for 384 kilometers, at the same time the higher configurations get a second motor on the front axel and the range is extended to 500 kilometers. The $55,000 performance Tesla Model 3 is arguably the best compact sport sedan. Since it out performance BMW, Mercedes & Audi cars and beats them by the price. This Tesla is the first in the company’s line-up to support the level 3 supercharging effectively replenishing the battery at 1600 kilometers per hour rate.

Tesla Model X

Remaining the only true production 3- rows 7-seat SUV in the all-electric segment the Model X line-up receives another shake up for the 2020 model here. The recently introduced standard range version is being dropped all together, while the remaining long range and performance models become more capable on the road thanks to an updated powertrain. Both will feature a dual motor all-wheel drive system with a permanent magnet reluctance motor up front and the familiar 100 kilowatt hour battery that is now thanks to the software updates is compatible with 200 kilowatt superchargers, the long range accelerates 0-100 KPH in 4.4 seconds and delivers 523 kilometrers of driving. While the performance is capable to beat many supercars, as it will break the 0-100 kilometers mark in 2.7 seconds in the Ludicrous mode. With these changes the entry level pricing of the Model X grows to almost $85,000 before incentives.

Tesla Model Y

Tesla Model Y are not expected to start deliveries earlier than the last quarter of the upcoming 2020, the brand’s new SUV or crossover is already available for pre-order and pre modifications like rear or all-wheel drive with long range with performance. The first can cover 482 kilometers when charged and the other two are good for 450 kilometers. While it is not nearing the Model X technical specifications The Y performance should demonstrate lively acceleration reaching 0-100 KPH in 3.5 seconds. Other options include a third row of seats and full self-driving capability. In addition the company will be releasing a base version of the Model Y sometime in 2021. It will offer 370 kilometers of range and 200 KPH top speed for a significant lesser price starting from $39,000.

Tesla Roadster

One simply cannot talk about the upcoming super cars especially electric ones without mentioning the new Tesla Roadster. The Tesla’s futuristic hyper car will become the pinnacle of performance at a rather affordable price undercutting such brands like Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren and Porsche. The expected range is unprecedented 1000 kilometers at highway speeds. Suppose the all new Tesla will get a three electric motor plaid powertrain with all-wheel drive capability that connects to a 200 kilowatt hour battery. It will ensure 0-100 KPH acceleration of 1.9 seconds and 0-160 KPH in 4.2 seconds with a quarter mile time of 8.9 seconds. Moreover the 400 kilometer MPH top speed will make this EV one of the world’s fastest production electric car ever built.

Tesla Semi

Tesla Semi is one of the most discussed models in the world of long distance cargo transportation when debuted its prototype form back in 2017 that is now expected to start production sometime in 2020 and has already been spotted on the highways during real world testing, rumours suggest that the Semi will get the self-piloting capabilities and its range will actually exceed the previously claimed 483/805 kilometers when fully charged. Just as the prototype the road ready version will be powered by four independent electric motors reaching 0-100 KPH in 20 seconds when fully loaded and consuming less than 2 kilowatt hour of energy fro every kilometre driven. This means the Semi will offer 50% savings in fuel costs when compared with any diesel powered class 8 truck.

Cybertruck

Tesla just recently unveiled its most awaited electric truck The Cybertruck. The Cybertruck production will reportedly start late 2021 and already exceeded 200,000 orders are in and growing fast. The Cybetruck will be available in three versions single motor RWD at USD 39,900, dual motor AWD at USD 49,900  and tri-motor AWD at USD 69,900. The Cybertruck has three motor options. The single motor RWD can make 0-60 mph in less than 6.5 seconds. The dual-motor AWD is good for 0-60 mph in less than 4.5 seconds and boasts of a towing capacity of more than 10,000 pounds. The tri-motor AWD will go from 0 to 60 mph in less than 2.9 seconds and gets a towing capacity of 14,000 pounds. The new Cybertruck single motor RWD has a range of over 250 miles, while the dual-motor AWD gets a range of more than 300 miles. Tesla exceeded the expectations when it comes to utility, performance, and specs. In my opinion I love it, because it’s nothing like you have ever seen before.
